Curriculum Focus:
During the month of November each year, we celebrate Thanksgiving. As part of this celebration we will focus our curriculum on Thanksgiving and Harvest Time, as well as to become more aware of the many people and things for which we are thankful for. Some of the concepts the children will be exposed to are as follows: Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks; it is a time for families to celebrate together; and it is a time to enjoy the foods that are often eaten on Thanksgiving. We will have our special Thanksgiving turkey lunch on Thursday 20th November.
Please refer to ABC Magic Moments’ Policies and Procedures for the days that the Preschool is closed. ABC Magic Moments will be closed for Veterans Day on Tuesday 11th November. We will also be closed for our Teacher Training sessions and for Thanksgiving on Tuesday 25th November @ 1.00 pm till Friday, 28th November. We will open as usual on Monday, 1st December.
Reminders & Updates:
· Many thanks to everybody who came to our Fall Carnival. It was wonderful to see so many of you supporting and spending quality time with your child. The event was very successful and everyone had fun, even the grown ups. I would also like to take this opportunity in thanking those of you who contributed many prizes for the children. In addition I would like to acknowledge the parents & siblings who assisted on the actual day. Special thanks to Neal Kaplan, Jim & Alexis Ripley, Tommy Kunze, Roy Super, Matt Tondag, Andrew Darrell & Archie PowellJ. Your support does not go unnoticed, we appreciate it greatlyJ
· Families whose children began with us Fall 2008 will receive the ‘Observational Developmental Screening” by Thanksgiving. This assessment identifies early childhood milestones observed at Preschool. Any comments, concerns or input about the screening observation findings are most welcome.
· The website for our Preschool is now updated with new photos of your happy, beautiful children (Photo tab on the left of the web page) feel free to check them out. The address is www.abcmagicmoments.com. You will also find the monthly newsletter, menus, lesson plans and our calendar on the website. Comments welcome!
· The next visit to ABC Magic Moments Preschool by the Hot Wheels Bookmobile will be on Tuesday 4th November @ 10.45 a.m. If your child does not usually attend on this day, you are very welcome to join us for story time.
